Santa Monica Vibes - I

Updated: Jan 29, 2023

I decided to post more from Santa Monica California because I got too many shots for just one week of posts! This is Santa Monica Vibes because this photo set fully encompasses the vibes that his pier has to offer. From vendors offering snacks and games, to the beach, the vibrant colors and the ferris wheel. Each vendor has their own special feel, some stores have blue walls just like this one that we shot pics in front of. This photo shoot took place early in the morning, so the shops were closed; we loved utilizing the vendors “doors.” Santa Monica is so special just because of all these small details. The vibrant blues mixed with all the fun attractions. You should check out this pier if you are ever in the California area.

I love the color contrast of this with my whole heart, I never would have thought that red and blue would accent each other so well. Also, something else that was really cool about this is the difference of line directions. The ground has upright lines, as well as my shirt and then the wall has opposing lines. I think the difference of lines added an interesting dynamic to this photo shoot. It added something fun to look at.

In this photo set we have another thing added called Photographers Notes. It is a fun sub category from a third person view. In this set, I did not write the photographer's note, however in the future I may. It is really fun to read about the modeling experience from another's perspective such as my mom, a bystander or the photographer themself. I think something fun could be asking the photographer to write a simple paragraph about one specific look, or my first meeting with them. Anything that could describe an interaction. Another cool thing could be to get the bystanders reaction or perspective. This would be difficult because not many random people want to type up a paragraph. However, something that is really popular between strangers in today's time is public interviews. It takes no work and no prep for the most part, all it takes is a camera and a question. I wonder what people see from their lens when we are shooting fun pics like this. And finally, I could write in the third perspective. This could be tricky; but it would be fun to write a story about a modeling experience not in my storytelling.

Enjoy this Photographer's Note…

Alana eagerly hopped out of the car, already aware of the photo opportunity that awaited her. It was early morning, but the light was already perfect. The photographer quickly set up his camera, not wanting to miss a moment of this golden hour. He was eager to have this photoshoot opportunity. She took a few practice shots, experimenting with different angles and compositions. Alana was in her element, and it showed in her photos. The resulting images were a stunning mix of light and shadow, contrast and color. Alana couldn't wait to share her work with the world. And judging by the eagerness of her fans, they couldn't wait to see it either.
